Saturday, June 15, 2013 yogis around the country will unite to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
20 studios around the country, including Tampa Bay’s own Yogani Studios, will participate in this inaugural fundraising challenge. It’s an eight-hour community Yogathon designed to provide an outpouring of positive energy and financial funding for children battling cancer. St. Jude’s is the ONLY National Cancer Institute with a Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. What’s more? No family ever pays St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for anything and its research discoveries continue to be shared freely, so that one child saved at St. Jude means thousands more saved worldwide.

Nathan Bangs leads the Yoga Tampa Bay team, which has multiple Tampa Bay yogis grouping together to raise money for the cause. Afraid to fund-raise alone? Join his team. The registration fee has been waived and fundraising with a group is always better than fundraising a lone!

Kerri says “I am second place right now for fundraising, so great big thanks to those who have donated and if you haven’t donated yet, there is still time to give. I also accept donations of loving, positive thoughts and you are welcome to practice alongside of me for any of these classes (all held Saturday 6/15 at Yogani).”

This session is a great way for the public to get involved! Suggested donation: $10 to St. Jude’s.

Come experience authentic, deep relaxation through “yogic sleep with awareness.” This special one-hour Yoga Nidra will be accompanied by a Sound Healing Journey by Eluv. Come into a deep, guided meditation while the crystal healing bowls take your rest to a whole new level. During your practice of iRest, you will be supported in a reclined position by bolsters and blankets as the facilitator takes you through a meditation that involves body sensing, intention setting, emotional awareness and the practice of finding an inner resource. No physical asana (postures) will be practiced. This practice is suitable for ALL levels of practitioners as it is a guided meditation. Become more grounded, focused and at peace. Embody serenity.
