Athletes Give

Athletes.

We love to help others.

You will always find us ready to raise money for a cause, volunteer at a race, or teach a donation class.

Yogis love to give back, too! (And aren’t yogis athletes, too?)

Saturday, June 15, 2013 yogis around the country will unite to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Yoga Gives to St. Jude Kids.

20 studios around the country, including Tampa Bay’s own Yogani Studios, will participate in this inaugural fundraising challenge. It’s an eight-hour community Yogathon designed to provide an outpouring of positive energy and financial funding for children battling cancer. St. Jude’s is the ONLY National Cancer Institute with a Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children.  What’s more? No family ever pays St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for anything and its research discoveries continue to be shared freely, so that one child saved at St. Jude means thousands more saved worldwide.

Local Tampa Bay Yogis, helping the cause include:

Team: Yoga Tampa Bay

Nathan Bangs leads the Yoga Tampa Bay team, which has multiple Tampa Bay yogis grouping together to raise money for the cause. Afraid to fund-raise alone? Join his team. The registration fee has been waived and fundraising with a group is always better than fundraising a lone!

Individual: Kerri Mersereau

Kerri says “I am second place right now for fundraising, so great big thanks to those who have donated and if you haven’t donated yet, there is still time to give. I also accept donations of loving, positive thoughts and you are welcome to practice alongside of me for any of these classes (all held Saturday 6/15 at Yogani).”

To support Kerri, visit: Kerri’s page.

Regardless of where you live or your Saturday conflicts, you can still help out! Make a general donation to the event here. More information is also available on the awesome blog Thrifty and Frugal Living! Check out Crystal’s post, here.
