In order to #PassLove, we will be highlighting stories of kindness, compassion, and dedication to helping others! Hopefully these stories will inspire you to go out and #PassLove. 🙂
First up is Steph of Orangespoken who prepares for the 3rd Annual Jogging for Judy with Miles for Moffitt Cancer Center with an unlikely and heart-warming (and heart-healthy) fundraiser.
Steph launched Co-op for a Cure. For $25, participants will get a box full of amazing vegetables from Parkesdale Farm Market in Tampa. A portion of the proceeds will then help fund #TeamJudy‘s participation in the Miles for Moffitt Race. Moreover, Co-op for a Cure promotes healthy eating, quality living, and buying local. Steph emphasizes that “Nutrition is a huge part of preventing and fighting cancer, and knowing that gave me the inspiration to form Co-op For a Cure.” Co-op for a Cure will raise funds and raise health–so let’s give them some help!

The origins of #TeamJudy began in 2012 when Steph’s mother passed away from a long battle with breast cancer. Steph’s Mom hated pink and, thus, Judy’s favorite color orange became the official team colors.

#TeamJudy runs 5ks in Judy’s memory, hosted several fundraisers, and helps to promote the importance of wellness in fighting cancer.
Steph says “Eating fresh fruits and veggies is not only important towards helping your body fight against cancer, but its’ also one, way to prevent it from happening in the first place, I thought that Co-op for a Cure would not only spread that message, but I could also use a portion of the left over money raised towards #TeamJudy’s fundraising efforts.”
With Co-op for a Cure, Steph embodies the importance of #PassLove. Not only does she honor her mother’s memory and help others battle cancer, but she makes a positive impact on the health and nutrition of our local community!
