Beautycounter Giveaway!

Disclaimer: In return for my honest reviews I was sent free samples of these Beautycounter products by Jodi Masterson.

Do you remember that I enrolled in the #MoneyLove course with Kate Northrup? It was awesome, fantastic, and totally transformed my life. And not just with regards to helping me love my money and value myself more…It definitely did that. Yay money! Yay organization! Yay bank accounts! Yay invoices for blessings already received! Yay for valuing my skills and services! Yay all around. Let’s here it for the money love!

In addition to learning to really love my money, the #MoneyLove course introduced me to a fantastic support group.  One of the women I met Jodi Masterson took the skills she learned from the class and instantly applied it to her own life. Jodi has joined the ranks of Beautycounter, which creates and promotes safe beauty and skin products for men and women.  The products look awesome and Jodi is working and doing something she loves!

I was able to try a few of the products that I would be inclined to use on a daily basis as a yogi and runner.  Let me tell you, everything I sampled was fantastic! (And not just for ladies!) I tried the protect face sunscreen, the hydrate body lotion, and their amazing lip balm. Beautycounter is VERY upfront about their mission, their ingredients, and how to shop. I like clarity, I like quality, and I like companies that have actual beliefs around their products and follow-through with their mission statement.

Thank you so much Jodi for letting me try such awesome products! Read on, my friends, for a review and giveaway!!

The sunscreen:

beautycountersunscreenPerfect for summer and winter! As a runner, walker, beachgoer, and general all about towner this Sunscreen was great! I don’t want to end up with skin cancer or wrinkly skin from too much sun and am DEFINITELY using this in my regular routine. It retails for $34.

The Lotion:

beautycounterlotionWith a refreshing citrus scent this lotion went on easily and stayed on all day! Definitely two thumbs up. Way up. And it didn’t feel greasy or too creamy but was the Goldilock’s “just right.” Retails for $22.

The Balm:

beautycounterlipbalmThis balm was great! It stayed on even as I ran. I layered it over lip-liner for a cute day-time look (see below) and my lips feel fantastic! Just the thing for Fall and Winter and, whelp, all seasons really. The smell was fresh, natural, (check out this link for Beautycounter’s stance on fragrances and ingredients) and definitely gender-neutral. So pucker up boys and gals! Retails for $18.

Here I am with the balm over some pastel lip liner (after I just had a FABULOUS hair cut by the way by Adriana Albornoz at Hyde Park Hair Lofts, just in case you live in Tampa and need a hair stylist….):

It felt great on my lips and, after putting over the liner, looked great to head out and about in life with some sheer color! 🙂

And guess what? Jodi volunteered to gift one LIP CONDITIONER CALENDULA BALM (value of $18) to you! See below for Rafflecoptor entry and requirements.

April! I invite you to learn more about Beautycounter on my website. I love the Know Everything section – full of valuable information about safe skincare and environmental safety overall! While the US has banned 11 toxic ingredients from skin care products, Europe has banned 1300+, Beautycounter is well of 1500 now (and growing daily). Truth and transparency with every ingredient.

I have not tried any of these products. I am a Sephora addict, so it is right up my alley!

Nikki! A Sephora addict – love it! I, too, love beauty and skin care products and am learning so much with Beautycounter!

For example – did you know “fragrance” is a trade secret? This means companies do not need to disclose what chemicals/ingredients go into their “fragrance”. Beautycounter discloses every ingredient and also what is NOT included (love that angle!).

The Environmental Working Group has a great skindeep app (or via their website http://www.ewg.org) where, if companies disclose their ingredients, EWG will rate their safety – category breakdown include cancer, developmental/reprotoxicity, allergens and fragrance. It’s eye -opening!

I love that Beautycounter products deliver on performance and keep us safe. Best of both worlds!

      HI Raffia!
Beautycounter launched March 2013 and is based out of Santa Monica, CA. We are nationwide with a team of over 4000+ Consultants and growing daily! We’re really excited and grateful for recent press – Gregg Renfrew (Founder & CEO) was on Bloomberg TV this week, The Today Show did a segment, Goop and J. Crew have also been featuring us as well as Twig Lip Sheer being part of other Allure’s Best of Beauty awards last month.

First and foremost, though, we are an information first company and getting safe products into the hands of everyone is our mission.

I haven’t tried it yet and I would love to!

Hi Crystal! If you have any questions about Beautycounter, please feel free to contact me!

My first product was the Lustro Oil #3 and I thought it was counterintuitive to put oil on my face – however I tried it and loved it! I use just 2 drops with my PM moisturizer and my skin is loving it! Also, the Protect Face Sunscreen is honestly the only sunscreen I have liked. No smell, no streaks, absorbs and doesn’t feel like I have a film on my face.

We’re launching color cosmetics in October so even more goodness forthcoming to compliment and grow our line.

I will say – it’s about progress, not perfection. Maybe you’re running out of a product and are open to trying one new thing. Or maybe an existing product scores higher than you’re comfortable with on the EWG website (Environmental Working Group http://www.ewg.org/skindeep safety scores skincare products & more) and that’s where you start.

Lots of goodness to keep you safe! =)

      Hi Sara!
If you have any questions, please let me know! We have 2 lip balms – Calendula and Peppermint. Honestly…I keep both in my purse… can anyone have just 1? One thing I love is the Safe Because portion for each of our products.
For lip balm: Many lip formulas contain unhealthy ingredients, including BHA, parabens, and undisclosed “fragrances”. Some lip balms also contain petrolatum, which may be contaminated with toxic chemicals like PAHs, which are endocrine disruptors. Our Lip Conditioner does not have any of these unhealthy ingredients.

Love sharing the important info to know! =)
