PROBAR Bite Review: Love at First Bite

Let my start by saying how much I LOVE PROBAR.
I got hooked on PROBAR BOLT energy chews before a half marathon last year. I was out of my normal gus and chews and had to buy some pre-race goods. With time to only stop at Whole Foods, I found these tasty and effective chews. And had an amazing half marathon as a result! (And many MANY amazing races and training runs since.)
I tried all the other PROBAR products that my Whole Foods had as a result. I loved the Meal Bars, but I find I need a snack more than I need a meal replacement and I would only eat half of a bar and the other half would go to waste.
When I learned that PROBAR was coming out with “PROBAR Bites,” I knew these babies would be right up my alley.
With only 190 calories PROBAR bites are a perfect snack to stave away hunger. Or a perfect post-workout meal. Or even a light breakfast when paired with a large latte and some fruit.
Plus, they are super tasty.
So far my favorite is the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip variety. Because I can never get enough of all things chocolate or peanut butter.
They even smell deliriously amazing!
You know how often bars seem completely lifeless? You open them up from the packaging and there’s no smell, no aroma, no ANYTHING to go with the visual.
Because it’s all processed ickiness. In order to get a long lasting shelf life with xyz calories, fiber, and protein, the companies sacrifice flavor and taste. And smell.
I like my food to smell good when I eat it! (Maybe that’s why I love bacon so much–ha!)
These bars smell like they should. They smell like peanut butter. They smell like coconut. They smell like fruit.
AND THE BEST PART? They really taste *good.*
They also are less sticky than some granola bars, easily transportable without getting all gross, (I lugged one around in the bottom of my Apera yoga tote yesterday and it didn’t smush, break, or bend!), and generally seem satisfying as a snack.
Moreover, they are good for you!
Organic. Gluten-Free. Non-GMO. Soy-free. Dairy-free. 190 calories. 6 grams of protein. 3 grams of fiber. 10-11 grams of sugar.

I’m just worried by how quickly I’m going through my twelve-pack. It’s kind of embarrassing how fast I’ve been chowing down on these delectable snacks! Thankfully when they are this tasty, this healthy, and clean…I’m okay with this! And luckily I live right by a Whole Foods and Fresh Market to stock back up! 😉
