#TaketheLeap: Set your Intention

Today’s the day!

Day one of the #TaketheLeap 30 Day challenge with Prana and Sweat Pink!

Who’s excited?!?

This girl!

Today, my suggestion is easy.

In yoga we start classes by setting an intention for our practice. As we head into this yoga challenge, I invite you to set an intention for the next three days.

It’s really easy–and, yes, it counts towards day one of your challenge! πŸ™‚

Find a comfortable spot in your house. Set a timer for five minutes. Sit down in a comfortable position. This may mean you sit cross-legged (a la “criss cross applesauce”) or it may mean you need to sit in a chair with your feet firmly planted.

Close your eyes from top to bottom.

Focus on the next month. How would you like to use this thirty days of yoga challenge to help you? Is there anything specific that you want to work on or that you hope to get out of this experience? (And it’s okay if your answer is “I want to win the $500 worth of Prana gear for me AND for a pal!” That’s a totally awesome reason to do something good for you.)

Really think about how you’d like to feel, what poses you may like to do, where you’d like to yoga (your home? the local studio? your gym? in a park? at work?)

Take this information and decide how you’d like to feel or what you’d like to bring into your life at the end of the practice.

Set a short sentence intention for your practice.

And then send it out to the world.

Continue to sit until the timer dings, even if you get restless and want to move. Focus on the breath. Breathe in, breathe out.

And trust that you made the right intention. It can change, that’s okay, life is meant to be fluid.

But see if you can’t make it stick for the entire challenge.

Take a photo of you in meditation, or your hands, or share the graphic above. Tag me (@lora_hogan), Sweat Pink (@FitApproach), and Prana (@Prana) and share the photo, along with your intention, on Instagram/Twitter or your other favorite social media channel. Be sure to include #TaktheLeap to help you win the prizes and allow us to track your progress. πŸ™‚

We can make this month amazing!

Here’s my goal:

I want to use the next thirty days to help each of you succeed, while making sure to take my personal time on the mat. I hope to find new ways and clarity in sharing my teaching and knowledge of yoga, while simultaneously deepening my own understanding with the beauty that is yoga. And to help you all to feel great–inside and out! πŸ™‚ #TaketheLeap

I need to keep up more, I didn’t hear about this until today. Sounds like a great idea, yoga has fell to the wayside a bit lately and I really need to get back to it!

I have always been nervous about trying Yoga…but I think if I try it one day at a time I just may be able to do it! Thanks for the awesome post!
