With summer, comes great outdoor events.
But sometimes, it can be ridiculously hot!
Here’s my go-to tips to get you through these fun (but potentially hot and humid) times.
1)Protect yourself against the sun! Wear sunscreen and wear a hat! (I also like to wear sunglasses if it’s a super bright day.)
Hat courtesy of prAna (get it here), bamboo sunglasses thanks to Bengees (similar here), necklace and earrings via my Rocksbox subscription (get one month free with code “lorahoganxoxo”)
2) Get a refreshing beverage, but make sure you order a water at the same time!
2) Wear comfortable and practical shoes. I like to wear my Pluggz!
3)Wear jean shorts and an open flowy top!
I’m wearing Olive & Oak Essential Cotton Blend Tee in Surf Green from my Zindigo Shop (get it on sale here!), I love the deep side split (asymmetrical) that allowed me to wear my Pammy Bra by Lorna Jane underneath! (Can you say comfortable AND practical ?!) AG Hailey Shorts from Anthropologie (get them here) are SO COMFORTABLE! SO SO SO comfortable. Again, Hat courtesy of prAna (get it here), bamboo sunglasses thanks to Bengees (similar here), necklace and earrings via my Rocksbox subscription (get one month free with code “lorahoganxoxo”), chakra bracelets thanks to Energy Muse Jewelry (get them here)
4) Have a good cross-body purse that is both a) fashionable and b) has full zip closure
5) Have a game plan in case it rains!
Afternoon storms brewing are normal in most parts of the world in summer, know where you’re going to go if that happens! Are there tents? A restaurant near by? Be prepared so you don’t get drenched or ruin your phone!
BONUS: BRING SNACKS!
Seriously, bring snacks! I always have a Sunsella Bento Box filled with snack treats with me! You can always fill it with nuts, chips, peanut butter and other foods that won’t go bad and leave them in the car–just in case their isn’t any food at the venue! (Who hasn’t had that happen to them? It’s NO fun!)
And remember…have fun!!!
