The big ones, especially.
We tend to run away when we start to feel uncomfortable. Shut down. Avoid. Replace with worries. Feelings of self-doubt or criticism. Everything and everything but be with the uncomfortableness.
It’s natural to want to run away. To avoid feeling things that are either REALLY good. Or really bad.
But the trick is to stay present.
And actually take the leap INTO the feelings of uncomfortableness.
To push yourself into the uncomfortableness. To stay there and go, okay, this sucks. Or okay, this is really great. Or oaky, I feel awkward/weird/scared/etc.–AND STAY IN THE MOMENT. To stay in the breath. To keep the head quiet and be in the present moment. Whatever the moment is. However much it may be uncomfortable or scary or annoying or whatever the case may be.
To dive into the uncomfortable land of the NOW.
When would NOW be a good time to be present in life?
What would happen if, starting right NOW, you decided to embrace all the feels? To remain rooted in the present moment? To stay here, breathing in what’s going on?
Life would be different. Would it be better? What would happen if you finally felt and experienced all the things….the good and the bad?
What has running away, shutting down, or fighting them done for you?
When would NOW be the time to experience the land of now?
Give it a shot.
The next time you feel yourself experiencing uncomfortableness. Take a deep breath. Focus on what’s happening in front of you. And feel all the feels. And then see what happens in that next breath. And the breath after that.
And watch your life transform.
