What if I fail?

We are all afraid of it.

We don’t want to fail.

We want to succeed. And our desire to succeed is so strong that we hold ourselves back.

We say no to our dreams. Or we turn down opportunities. We avoid going on that date, signing up for that class, asking for that promotion.

Because we are scared to take that risk. Scared to go after our dreams. Scared to leap into the unknown.

Because we don’t want to suck. We don’t want to fail. We don’t want to make mistakes.

And so we worry. We procrastinate. We don’t start things because we don’t know how they will turn out.

Or we don’t actually give something our all. Because we know if we put it all out there, we could fail. We could fall down. We could screw up.

But I am here to tell you today give it a shot. Because, yes, there is a chance you could fail. Yes, sometimes we give something our all and we realize it’s not the right fit for us. We close down the shop. Sometimes, things don’t work out.

But sometimes?

Sometimes they do.

Don’t you want to experience that joy? Don’t you want to have your dreams come true? Here and now? Not in some “what if?” land of the future?

I love this quote:

“What if I fall?”… “Oh but my darling, what if you fly?”

Failure, it could happen. But what if you find yourself soaring higher than ever before?
The only way to do that is to take risks. To leap into the unknown. To turn your dreams into a reality. To be brave in spite of the risk of failure.

You may fall down. But YOU control the power to get back up.

It may be hard. But YOU control your ability to KEEP GOING.

Because, guess what?

You could succeed beyond your most wild dreams.

You could SOAR.

Who wants to fly with me?

As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

What risk can you take today? How can you begin to soar towards your dreams? What happens if you stop letting FAILURE hold you back?

The time for waiting is over…The time for action is now. Go after your dreams. Let’s fly friends!

I love that quote too! It makes me think of Wendy from Peter Pan, who I obviously love because I named my daughter for her.

So true Lora. It reminds me a quote. ” Stop worrying about what could go wrong and get excited about what could go right.” Everyone struggles with fear at some level but we must be able to move forward in spite of that fear. FEAR can mean one of two things… Forget Everything And Run… or Face Everything And Rise!! We get to choose in every precious present moment. Thanks for another great post… 🙂
